Kenna Sullivan, LICSW is an Assistant Director of Field Education at the BCSSW where she has worked since 2011. She has also a worked for 9 years at the University Counseling Center here at BC in the Psychiatric Consult Emergency Services role on weekends throughout the academic year. She also works in the same capacity at the Berklee College of Music.

Kenna graduated from Boston College in 1980 and went on to get her Master’s degree in Social Work from Boston University in 1982. Since graduation, Kenna has worked in a variety of settings in health and mental health including in several emergency rooms in the area, in primary and tertiary care hospitals in general medicine, dialysis, and renal transplant. She has worked in the Group Therapy department at McLean for the past 9 years doing therapeutic groups on weekends on the inpatient units.

For many years, she volunteered with the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Team and worked specifically on the Aviation Disaster Mental Health Team. Included in her work history includes responses to the TWA Flight 800 crash, Egypt Air Flight 990 crash, Swiss Air Flight 111 crash, 911 and the American Airlines Flight 587 in 2001.

Currently she is a Faculty Advisor and guest lecturer at Boston College School of Social Work and moonlights in emergency medicine in psychiatric service delivery.

She is married and has three sons.
