I believe that each person has their own inner strengths to deal with life stressors, build healthy relationships, and recover from trauma.

I view my role as being able to assist them in discovering the sources of their emotional responses and behaviors and obtain greater insight and healthier functioning by providing them a safe space to express themselves.

I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at Boston University in 2002. I utilize a variety of techniques, approaches and theoretical orientations to best serve the unique needs and issues of the person coming in for help. I specialize in counseling individuals who have experienced traumatic events, including child abuse, natural disasters, domestic violence, rape, and growing up in dysfunctional families.

I also work with individuals on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and eating disorders, among many others. Furthermore, growing up in Japan and receiving education in both Japan and the US, I have extraordinary sensitivity and insights in multicultural, and cross-cultural issues. I enjoy working with clients who have diverse backgrounds.
